R/C Airplane Projects
I've put each plane on a separate page to make it easier for those who
are only interested in one of them. Each page has thumbnail images which
are small GIFs that should load pretty fast.
I'm using TurboCAD and three-views from the Tamiya 1/48 plastic model.
Believe it or not, the Tamiya 3-views are the most accurate I could find
based on examination of the real article at the NASM Garber Facility.
This model is being built on the web! I'm covering the project step-by-step
on these pages. You can build it vicariously with me!
This is by far my favorite plane. I built it in 1989 and it probably has
about 50 flights on it. I'm going to post some newer pictures of it when
I get through reworking it. This page has 5 pictures and ~2 pages of text.
This is a kit review I did for "R/C Online" magazine. I've updated it with
an Epilogue and changed it a bit here and there. This page has one full
size image and 14 thumbnails on it.
Since this kit is no longer available, I've taken down the review. If you
are lucky enough to have a kit and want to see the review, send me email.
I've still got it.
I built this in 1988. Page has 1 image and a few lines of text.
I've had my eye on this plane for awhile because it looks like it should
make for a R/C model "warbird" that would be relatively easy to fly. Because
of its huge wing area, one should be able to load it up with all kinds
of scale detail and still have it come out with a relatively light wing
loading. Right now I only have the fuse design about half finshed. I've
only done the outlines of the wing plans. This page has 5 images and about
one page of text.
